Your Guide to Freshman On-campus Housing

Introduction

97% of GT first year students will live on campus for their first two semesters. Chances are you will too. To help your transition from life at home to life on campus, this guide will help you find your ideal on campus home for your first year at Georgia Tech. Your dorm hall will determine the sorts of amenities you have, the length of your commute to your classes, the culture you are exposed to, and ultimately the quality of life you have during this time of transition.

To help you with selecting your ideal dorm hall, this guide will tackle each individual variable step by step with the goal of narrowing down your choice from 24 halls to a manageable selection. It is easy without prior research to be overwhelmed by the options presented to a new student during the selection process. Equally, it is important to recognize that each individual is different and that each hall tailors itself with its own unique combination of amenities, living styles, location, culture, and opportunities! Thus, by highlighting how housing varies for each variable, you can determine your own best fit by following our decision tree. Afterwards we will cover potential on-campus summer options to continue your life on-campus at Georgia Tech.
